Techincs 1210 x2 Pioneer CDJ800 Gemini CS02 Mixer Serato Scratch DubRoot My name is DubRoot and I'm a Drum & Bass DJ and Producer. I first got into it by going to a rave back in 2001 where I was blown away by the Drum ‘n’ Bass atmosphere and I felt at home with the grimy music scene. Soon after that I was mixing every day with Epileptic MC in my bedroom when I should have been doing my uni work. I was raving it up every weekend listening to the likes of Mampi Swift, Andy C, Friction who were great inspirations. We then formed PT Productions (the PT stands for Part-Time), and endeavoured to break into the D’n’B scene.I started setting up nights at my Student Union bar in 2004 and since then I have grown as a DJ to play in clubs such as Fabric and Herbal to name a few. Now I am co-founder and promoter of Ultrasounds, where I am a resident dj and have played along side Social Security, Jordan V, Vital Elements and DJ Pleasure… I like to play varied styles but keep the music hard and punchy. Reggae was my ting before Drum & Bass so I like to mix in lots of Reggae D’n’B alongside bangers and mash ups both old and new. I now mainly get my inspiration from making people pull their bass faces and have started to incorporate this into my production. I have been messing about with Logic for many years now and have made tunes in all styles but mainly enjoy creating Dark Rollers and Dub Jungle.
